        An IIOT is an irrevocable trust that can pay income only to the grantor. It cannot pay principal to the grantor under any circumstances. An IIOT can be an effective way to create Medicaid eligibility while giving the grantor more control over the assets than would an outright gift, as well as offering federal income advantages.
