About the Journal: The journal's mission is to create a meaningful forum in which to explore the intersection between the law and its impact upon individuals and communities along the lines of race, religion, gender, and class. The creation of the journal was inspired by the recognition that the study and practice of law is often infused with a brand of myopia that directs legal inquiry towards the language of statutes and case law, but away from the larger effects of those laws on the population in general, and particularly on the disenfranchised. The journal was conceived as neither leftist nor conservative, but dedicated to providing a forum for scholarly inquiry and penetrating discourse from a wide spectrum of academic and practical expertise.
Topic Guidelines: The journal welcomes submissions of high-quality, original manuscripts with an emphasis on any aspect of race, religion, gender or class. The journal strives to publish articles on timely issues of interest to the legal community. For a sample of appropriate topics, please see the list of past events that have been hosted.
Style Guidelines: Articles should be written in law review style with footnotes and citations formatted according to the most recent edition of The Bluebook. Articles submitted should generally be at least twenty pages and not exceed fifty pages.
Deadlines: The submission deadline for the Spring issue is the last week in October. The submission deadline for the Fall issue is the last week in July. Authors are encouraged to submit manuscripts well in advance of these deadlines.
Other Criteria: At this time the journal does not publish student-written articles other than those of its own staff. The journal will always consider completed unsolicited manuscripts from academics or practitioners for possible publication in a future issue of the journal.
